AI for Marketing

Last updated: August 5, 2026

Level: Assist. The AI drafts. You decide. Nothing goes out under your business name until you have read it in full and checked every fact in it.

What this course is

Marketing on Nantucket is a strange job. Your season is compressed. Your audience is really two audiences, the people who live here and the people who visit. Your budget is small. And in most island businesses the person doing the marketing is also doing the payroll, the ordering, and the schedule.

That is the exact problem an AI assistant is suited to. It will not give you better taste or better judgment. It will give you volume, speed, and a way to stop starting from a blank page. Used well, it turns marketing from the thing you never get to into a task with a fixed weekly slot.

This course teaches that. It is built on H.E.L.P., the method taught in Course 2: Humanize, Evaluate, Leverage, Perfect. You do not need Course 2 first. Each step is explained here as it comes up.

Who it is for

Owners and staff of Nantucket businesses who handle their own marketing. Innkeepers, restaurant owners, shop owners, agents, contractors, guides, nonprofit staff, and anyone else who writes their own posts and emails. No marketing background required. No technical background required.

What you will be able to do

By the end you will be able to:

  1. Say what AI is genuinely good at in marketing and where it will fail you.
  2. Write a voice brief that makes AI drafts sound like your business instead of

a generic one.

  1. Hold a clear honesty line: no invented reviews, awards, statistics, or

claims, ever.

  1. Produce a month of social posts and a newsletter in a single working session.
  2. Write website copy, descriptions, and offers, aimed correctly at locals or at

visitors.

  1. Run a weekly marketing rhythm, track what actually worked, and keep a prompt

library that gets stronger every month.

  1. Recognize the point where hiring a person beats prompting harder.

Product neutrality

This course names no products. Everything here works in whichever chat assistant you already have. We say “your chat assistant” and mean yours. Tools change every few months. The workflow in this course does not.

Draft status

This course was written new for learn.nantucketai.com rather than adapted from existing Nantucket AI teaching material. Every lesson carries a review marker for that reason. The examples are illustrative composites of common island business situations, not case studies of named clients.

How the course is assessed

Each module ends with a short quiz. Every question is answerable from that module’s lessons. A final assessment covers all four modules.

  • Passing grade: 70 percent.
  • Retakes: unlimited. Retakes are not penalized and do not affect your

completion status.

Frequently asked questions

Will AI write my marketing for me?

No. It writes drafts. You supply the facts, the judgment, and the approval, and you do the final edit. The course is honest about this because the businesses that treat AI as a replacement for a marketer produce content that sounds like nobody and occasionally says things that are not true.

Will people be able to tell I used AI?

They will if you publish the first draft. Untouched AI copy has a recognizable sound, heavy on words like unforgettable, nestled, and curated. Module 1 teaches you to build a voice brief and a never-use list that pulls the drafts back toward how you actually talk. Module 3 teaches the editing passes that finish the job.

Do I need to tell customers that AI helped write something?

Not on every post. The finished work is yours because you edited and approved it. You do need to disclose where someone could reasonably think they are talking to a human and are not, such as an automated chat window, and where personal authorship is part of the value, such as a founder’s letter. The course covers where the line sits and how a short AI use statement on your site settles it.

Is it safe to put my customer list or booking data into a chat assistant?

No, and the course is specific about this. Do not paste email lists, guest records, donor histories, or anything with names attached into a general chat assistant. If you want help with patterns, describe the pattern in words or strip the identifying columns first.

Which AI tool does this course teach?

None specifically, on purpose. Everything works in whichever chat assistant you already have access to. Product names, prices, and features change constantly. The voice brief, the batch session, the Evaluate checklist, and the prompt library work the same way regardless of what you are using.

How much time does the workflow actually take once I am set up?

About two and a half hours a month. One ninety-minute monthly batch session and one thirty-minute weekly session. The course also tells you exactly which step to keep and which to drop when a week gets away from you.
